Like most involved with this day over the years we are blown away at how this Day has developed… from Cookstown to California, from London UK to London Canada…. Indeed the Day is marked in some way or another in EVERY country in the World!
From a small group of activists to a global campaign in a few years….
Who said homeless folk are hopeless?
Lets make this year bigger than ever!
Like previous years, our desire to create change grows stronger day by day. We see further attacks on our streets by unjust laws, we see growing Poverty and more and more folk homeless or facing uncertain futures. We are but only mere individuals BUT there is strength in unity… World Homeless Action Day offers an opportunity to show the world what we can do together. From writing letters to your local paper to holding mass demonstrations, to giving a couple of pennies or cents to someone who needs it or holding a large fund-raiser for progressive groups.
Ideally when it comes to raising funds we would encourage people to consider grass-root smaller groups who operate without the cushion of funding or large paid fund-raising teams. Time to really think out of the cardboard box and support those groups who are the real ‘unsung heroes’ without a brand-name. Over the years we have grown a strong network of similar minded groups globally and communicate regularly with each other. We look forward to working with more and you!
